Communication in all forms has come to me naturally ever since I was the super talkative 3rd grader who won “best writer” at my elementary school end-of-year awards. Since then, it was a no-brainer that I would end up majoring in something like communications. Fast forward to now, I’m a Texas State graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Digital Media Innovation in the school of Fine Arts and Communication with a psychology minor. During my time at Texas State University, I have received two Service Excellence Awards. One award was given for my social media analytics work with Texas State Career Services, and the other award for multimedia storytelling projects I produced during my Study in America Trip to Yosemite National Park.
While attending Texas State, I’ve also kept a full-time position as a pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy. At this job I’ve gained over 5 years of customer service experience, learning how to empathize with customers and communicate in a way that makes them feel heard. These are skills that I don’t think I would have found anywhere else, even in the classroom.
